Potion crafting follows a structured yet flexible approach, much like baking. You have ingredients, tools, and a formula or recipe to follow. The process involves carefully selecting and combining ingredients to create a desired effect. However, unlike baking, potion crafting is infused with magical intent, making the state of mind and energy of the crafter just as crucial as the ingredients themselves.

Potions Are for Crafting, Not Consuming: As a beginner, you will be learning the art of Charm Potions first. The ingredients used in this style of potion crafting are meant for exploration and tangible aid only. They are NOT EDIBLE and should never be ingested. As you grow in your skills, you’ll unlock lessons on crafting safe, edible potions!
Age Recommendation: Potion Crafting is a delightful adventure best suited for those aged six and above. Beginners & Young potion crafters should always have a wise and watchful guide (a trusted adult) by their side.
Spark of Enchantments Are Not Bath Bombs: While they may fizz, pop, or bang when mixed with liquid, they are intended solely for potion crafting, not bathing.
Handle With Care: If any ingredient comes into contact with your skin, eyes, or nose and causes Thaumaturgic Morphic Instability (TMI) - such as unexpected fur growth, spontaneous antlers, or an unfortunate amphibian incident… or just the general kind of skin irritation, rinse immediately with water. If irritation persists, seek medical advice. As all wise potion crafters know; one must always wash their hands after working with magical components and before eating meals; troll snot is NOT a tasty seasoning!

Spark of Enchantments – “Flame Free Brewing”: The foundation of any potion, these ingredients often appear in solid or powdered form and are the first to be added to your cauldrons. They provide the initial magical energy needed to brew the perfect potion.
Core Ingredients – Carefully harvested and preserved, these ingredients are chosen for their unique properties, forming the heart of the potion. Core Ingredients each hold unique special qualities. – (Further information about particular ingredients will be added to the Archives in good time).
Essences of Magic – These are liquid extracts from magical environments that breathe life into the potion. They bind all elements together, completing the transformation from simple ingredients to something truly magical
Your Energy and Intent – The most vital element of all. A Potion Crafter’s emotions, intent, and focus shape the potion’s outcome. A calm and joyful heart enhances the potion’s effectiveness, while negative emotions may cause unintended effects, such as Arcane Energetic Flux Phenomenon (AEFP) - This occurs when a Potion Crafter brews while distracted, grumpy, or thinking about what’s for dinner instead of focusing on their potion. Symptoms may include: unexpected potion side effects, spontaneous colour changes, minor explosions, random glitter storms, temporarily speaking in riddles, teacup sentience. Or, on rare occasions - unintended levitation of the furniture. – “Nothing a bit of string cheese can’t fix”, I always say!
Additionally, the crafting environment plays a significant role. A serene and focused workspace allows for a more controlled and powerful potion, while clutter and distractions can lead to unpredictable results. For example, AEFP.
